Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) did not hold back her admiration of former President Donald Trump on Presidents’ Day, but quickly learned not everyone feels the same way.
Greene turned to both congressional and personal accounts on X, formerly Twitter, to wish Trump a happy Presidents’ Day Monday, according to the Huff Post.
“Greene, to her congressional account, shared a photograph of the Republican 2024 front-runner with a pen in hand and wrote: ‘Happy Presidents’ Day to my favorite President and yours, President Donald J. Trump!’” the Huff Post wrote.
She included a photo of her and Trump in a post on her personal account and wrote, “Wishing a tremendous Presidents’ Day to the man who will make America great again! I will always stand with President Trump and I’m so excited to send him back in the White House!”
Ironically, Greene’s admiration was expressed the same day a survey ranked Trump as the worst president. Biden came in at 14, according to the survey by the Presidential Greatness Project. Former President Abraham Lincoln came out on top.
Many jumped on X, disagreeing with Taylor Greene’s assessment of Trump as president.
“Greene is one of a number of Trump-devoted Republicans who are rumored to be in contention to become his running mate if, as is becoming increasingly likely, he becomes the GOP’s nominee to take on Biden in November,” the Huff Post reported.
