Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) was the subject of another âswattingâ incident for the second day in a row.
Police reportedly arrived at the Congresswomanâs Georgia home after a 911 call that came in a 2:53 a.m.
A report from the Rome Police Department stated the call was about âa male possibly shooting his family members and then himself.â
The call reportedly was made through an internet chat that was a suicide crisis hotline.
According to the report, the suspect âcame out as trans-gender and claimed they shot the familyâ living at Greeneâs address.
âIf anyone tried to stop me from shooting myself, I will shoot them,â the suspect, who used the name Wayne Greene, reportedly said.
Law enforcement met Greene at her front door, and they âconfirmed this was a second false report.â
However, law enforcement was unable to see the location used in the chat line because the suspect used a VPN.
Greene tweeted Thursday morning, âSwatted again last night.â
Cambridge Dictionary describes âswattingâ as âthe action of making a false report of a serious emergency so that a SWAT team (a group of officers trained to deal with dangerous situations) will go to a personâs home, by someone who wants to frighten, upset, or cause problems for that person.â
Greene was subjected to a âswattingâ incident on Wednesday morning as well.
The Rome News-Tribune reported that law enforcement received a call that claimed someone had been shot in the Congresswomanâs bathtub.
The police report states, âAfter we cleared the call and went back in service, Rome-Floyd 911 received a call from the suspect, claiming responsibility for the incident and explaining his/her motives.â
âIt was a computer generated voice. They explained they were upset about Ms. Greeneâs stance on âtrans-gender youthâs rights,â and stated they were trying to âswatâ her,â it added.
Greene shared the story and wrote on Twitter, âIf this is the war the left wants, this is the war the left will get. I will never stop protecting children and defending their innocence.â
The incident comes days after Greene introduced a bill that would make it a felony to perform âgender-affirming careâ on minors.
