Marjorie Taylor Greene Says Her Georgia Home Was ‘Swatted’

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) appears to be the victim of a prank report that led a police team to enter her house early in the morning.

In a tweet Wednesday morning, Greene wrote, “Last night, I was swatted just after 1 am.”

“I can’t express enough gratitude to my local law enforcement here in Rome, Floyd County,” she added.

Greene’s tweet appears to be a reference to the practice of “swatting,” which Cambridge Dictionary describes as “the action of making a false report of a serious emergency so that a SWAT team (= a group of officers trained to deal with dangerous situations) will go to a person’s home, by someone who wants to frighten, upset, or cause problems for that person.”

Her tweet quickly garnered responses from conservatives.

Elijah Schaffer of The Blaze wrote, “Glad you are safe!”

Meanwhile, conservative commentator David Reaboi wrote, “This is absurd. Glad you’re ok.”

The Georgia Congresswoman shared a tweet from a user who wrote, “Whoever did this to needs to be punished to the fullest extent of the law. This is horrific incredibly dangerous!”
