The president’s niece, Mary Trump, is taking aim at him for not cooperating with the Biden transition team. This comes as President Donald Trump refuses to concede the election, despite several major outlets projecting President-elect Joe Biden as the winner.
Mary Trump spoke with CNN’s Don Lemon on Wednesday evening, where she did not hold back in her criticism of her uncle.
“We have to remember that Donald has never been in a situation he couldn’t keep, lie, steal, or buy his way of, and the fact of the matter is he has done the worst possible thing he could do,” Mary Trump said. “He has lost.”
While this is usually the time where the outgoing administration provides the incoming administration transition resources, Mary Trump said Donald Trump is “dragging his feet” and “being such a sore loser,” adding “He’s continuing to put American lives in danger every day.”
She added, “It’s despicable. It’s criminal. And the Republicans need to be held accountable just as much as Donald does at this point.”

The General Services Administration (GSA) is facing growing pressure to begin the transition process. The GSA administrator, Emily Murphy, has not yet signed the letter of ascertainment which would recognize Biden as the winner. This would release funds and resources to the winner.
However, some Trump administration officials have suggested there will be a second Trump administration, including White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo previously claimed at a press conference that “there will be a smooth transition to a second Trump administration,” before saying on a Fox News interview, “I am very confident that we will have a good transition. That we will make sure that whoever is in office on noon on January 20, has all the tools readily available so that we don’t skip a beat with the capacity to keep Americans safe.”
U.S. national security adviser Robert O’Brien recently vowed that there would a peaceful transition of power, “Look, if the Biden-Harris ticket is determined to be the winner — and obviously things look that way now — we’ll have a very professional transition from the National Security Council. There’s no question about it.”
Republican lawmakers have been reluctant to publicly say that Biden won the election. However, a few Congress members have acknowledged Biden as the winner.
