Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is brushing off recent criticism from former President Donald Trump and says he is focused on confronting the current “totally left-wing administration.”
“What I’m concentrating on is the future and what we are confronted with here is a totally left-wing administration, with a slight majority in the House, a 50-50 Senate trying to transform America into something no one voted for last year,” McConnell said when asked about Trump’s recent criticism.
He reiterated, “That’s what I’m concentrating on.”

During a weekend event for the Republican National Committee, Trump reportedly took aim at the Kentucky lawmaker for not moving to kill the impeachment trial over allegations that he incited the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.
“If that were Schumer instead of this dumb son of a b***h Mitch McConnell, they would never allow it to happen. They would have fought it,” Trump said.
He also called McConnell a “stone cold loser.”
That same weekend, Trump was awarded the Champion for Freedom Award by the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC).
Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.), the chairman of the NRSC, tweeted on Monday, “President Trump is reported to have referred to Senator McConnell on Saturday as a ‘dumb SOB.'”

As all of my colleagues in the Senate know, this is not true. He’s a very smart SOB.
