White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany says it is “peculiar” that former Vice President Joe Biden (D) would wear a mask when he goes outside, but not when he is in his house.
During her press briefing on Tuesday, McEnany was asked about a tweet that President Donald Trump shared which appeared to mock Biden for wearing a mask during his first public appearance in roughly two months.
“The President’s excited to see that Joe emerged from the basement,” McEnany said adding, “It is a bit peculiar though that in his basement right next to his wife, he’s not wearing a mask, but he’s wearing one outdoors when he’s socially distanced.”
Additionally, she said that Trump was not criticizing Biden for wearing a mask, “As the president noted himself, he wore a mask at the Ford facility, and he said he’s open to it if the circumstance mandates it.”
