Since the coronavirus began spreading in the country, public figures have donated millions of dollars to help Americans suffering because of the pandemic.
On Monday, First Lady Melania Trump sent 150 box lunches to the Children’s Inn at the National Institute of Health, her spokesperson Stephanie Grisham said in a statement.
“First Lady Melania Trump donated 150 boxed lunches to the patients and staff of Children’s Inn at the National Institute of Health,” the statement read.
It continued, “Supporting those impacted by the effects of COVID19 is something the First Lady cares deeply about, and as we navigate these unique times she will continue to reach out to people in a variety of ways. In accordance with social distancing guidelines, and in order to protect everyone’s safety at the medical facility, the food was sent securely with a contact-free delivery.”
Trump has sent out several messages to encourage Americans to follow the government’s guidelines, as IJR reported.
“As the CDC continues to study the spread of the COVID-19, they recommend people wear cloth face coverings in public settings where social distancing measures can be difficult to maintain,” she said in one video.

She has also encouraged Americans to show kindness to each other.
And she has regularly offered tributes to healthcare professionals, teachers, and other frontline workers.
