Two first lady’s are speaking after one recovered from having the coronavirus.

U.S. first lady Melania Trump shared on Thursday that she reached out to Canada’s first lady Sophie Grégoire Trudeau to offer “well wishes.”

Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau confirmed on March 12 that his wife had been tested positive for the coronavirus, as IJR previously reported. The prime minister then went into self-quarantine himself, though he noted that he was not showing any symptoms.

“I am feeling so much better and have received the all clear from my physician and Ottawa Public Health,” Sophie Grégoire Trudeau wrote in a Facebook post on March 28, later adding, “And to everyone who is suffering right now, I send you all my love.”

Following the “all clear” message, Trump tweeted about her call with Canada’s first lady, “I expressed well wishes for her good health, following her recovery from [coronavirus, and] my gratitude for the special relationship between our two countries as we address the challenges related to the pandemic.”

Just spoke w/ Mrs. Sophie Grégoire Trudeau of #Canada. I expressed well wishes for her good health, following her recovery from #COVID19, & my gratitude for the special relationship between our two countries as we address the challenges related to the pandemic.

It was previously announced on March 24 that the U.S. first lady tested negative for the coronavirus, as IJR previously reported.

Her spokesperson said at the time, “Mrs. Trump got tested the same night as the president was tested, out of an abundance of caution. The test was negative.”

While President Donald Trump has also previously tested negative for the coronavirus, he once again tested negative for the coronavirus on Thursday.

“He is healthy and without symptoms,” White House Physician Sean Conley wrote in a memo of the U.S. president’s test results.

In the U.S., confirmed coronavirus cases reached over 245,000, while Canada has more than 11,200 cases, as of Friday morning. Globally, there over 1 million confirmed coronavirus cases.
