Former First Lady Melania Trump posted an ominous video social media touting a conspiracy theory regarding the assassination attempt on her husband.
Melania Trump’s post on X, formerly Twitter, said “there is definitely more to this story” behind the day in July when her husband, Donald Trump, was shot in the ear during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
In the video, posted Tuesday morning, Melania Trump wondered why the shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, was not arrested before her husband’s speech.
“I can’t help but wonder: Why didn’t law enforcement officials arrest the shooter before the speech?” she asked. “There is definitely more to this story. And we need to uncover the truth.”
Both of Donald Trump’s sons — Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump — have also espoused theories regarding the shooting and the possibility of Democrats begging behind the attack, per Mediaite.
“I said that the Democrats would stop at absolutely nothing,” Eric Trump told Maria Bartiromo on Fox News in July. “I’ve said on this show before I wouldn’t be surprised if they tried something even worse, alluding to exactly what happened, and I was right.”
Then, Donald Trump Jr. told Megyn Kelly at the Republican National Convention, “They’re trying to jail their political opponents. They’re now trying to kill him.”
Melania Trump recently released another video promoting her memoir — “Melania” — on Oct. 8.
After the assassination attempt against her husband, she called for national unity, IJR previously reported.
“America, the fabric of our gentle nation is tattered,” she wrote in a statement. “But our courage and common sense must ascend and bring us back together as one.”
