Michael Caputo, who was recently appointed as Trump’s Secretary of Health and Human Services, has said that Democrats are “counting on” a national pandemic strategy and that “millions of Chinese suck the blood out of rabid bats as an appetizer and eat the ass out of anteaters.”
Caputo made the statements on Twitter in March and has since deleted those tweets. However, they were accessed by CNN on Thursday and reveal a telling insight into the opinions and ideas of the new cabinet official.

On the day before his tweet about the Chinese, Caputo wrote that the Democrats were rooting for the virus, tweeting, “For the Democrat 2020 victory strategy to work, 100,000+ Americans have to die.”
In another tweet, Caputo attacked billionaire George Soros, who is a frequent target of anti-Semitic attacks. Caputo wrote, “Are you kidding? Soros’s political agenda REQUIRES a pandemic.”
In another March tweet, Caputo accused an economist of being a member of the elite Rothschild family, calling him “an inbred elitist sphincter whose family craves control. That’s one reason why he constantly lies about President Trump.”
In another post, Caputo accused Biden of being a puppet of the Chinese communist party.
Caputo came to the White House after spending years as a fervent supporter of the president and authoring a recent book criticizing the impeachment of Donald Trump.
CNN’s recent reporting is not the first time that Caputo’s below-the-belt remarks on Twitter have been covered.
When Caputo was appointed to his post, Politico also referenced some of his more colorful tweets. In one tweet, Caputo wrote of Andrew Gillum, “Of course unprotected down low meth sex is totally responsible behavior during a global pandemic.” Gillum was mentioned in a police report as being found in a hotel room where meth was also present.
Caputo’s new position was seen in Washington as an effort by the White House to get more control over the HHS, where Secretary Alex Azar sometimes marches to a different beat than President Donald Trump.
