Missouri state Rep. Ben Baker says his daughter and son-in-law were killed in Haiti while they were serving as missionaries.
In a post on Facebook on Friday, Baker wrote, “My heart is broken in a thousand pieces. I’ve never felt this kind of pain. Most of you know my daughter and son-in-law Davy and Natalie Lloyd are full time missionaries in Haiti.”
“They were attacked by gangs this evening and were both killed. They went to Heaven together. Please pray for my family we desperately need strength,” he continued.
Finally, Baker added, “And please pray for the Lloyd family as well. I have no other words for now.”
Baker’s daughter was on a missionary trip with her husband Davy Lloyd for the organization Missions in Haiti Inc, which was founded by Davy’s parents.
In a post on Facebook, the mission said, “Davy and Natalie and Jude were shot and killed by the gang about 9 o’clock this evening.”
It added, “We all are devastated.”
In March, the State Department urged Americans not to travel to Haiti, and to leave the country, due to a surge in gang violence.
