Country singer Morgan Wallen made a Tennessee music teacher’s whole day after surprising him with a generous gift donation.
Tom Walsh, a music teacher at Adrian Burnett Elementary School in Knoxville, has a wide variety of musical instruments in his classroom for his students to use, according to Knox News. The instruments were paid for with Walsh’s money.
During a special assembly on Friday, Walsh was surprised with a special award given to him from the Morgan Wallen Foundation.
“This teacher really goes above and beyond,” Lesli Wallen, the mother of Morgan Wallen said during the assembly.

The Morgan Wallen Foundation provided Walsh with a $20,000 grant along with an award in recognition of Walsh’s impact and his continued mission to “inspire and advocate for music education,” the foundation wrote in a press release.
Lesli Wallen and Walsh had worked together at Adrian Burnett Elementary School prior to her retirement, and she described Walsh as always asking the other teachers how he could assist them.
“He would always ask us other teachers, ‘How can I help? What can I take off your hands?'” Lesli Wallen told the outlet.
Morgan Wallen, who is currently on tour, was not present at the assembly, though he did record a video for the assembly.
