MSNBC’s Steve Kornacki said Sunday that it’s “hard to ignore” polls indicating momentum for former President Donald Trump, while Vice President Kamala Harris’ “positive image” is simultaneously slipping with less than 10 days before Election Day.

Polls between Harris and Trump have tightened in the last week, with some pundits predicting a close race on Nov. 5. On “Meet the Press,” Kornacki noted that major outlets, including the Wall Street Journal and CNBC, now show Trump in the lead.

“The one thing we have noticed in the last couple of days, this is not all of the polls that are out there now, but we have seen a number. Four in the last four days that have shown very small, but in the context of this close race, potentially meaningful movement in Trump’s direction. I don’t want to overstate it, but at the same time it’s hard to ignore these four,” Kornacki said.

“The CNBC poll came out the other day has Trump ahead by two. The Wall Street Journal poll, Trump ahead by three. Sienna and The New York Times, a tied race. CNN, a tied race,” Kornacki added. “The significance here is broader movement, again, we are seeing in Trump’s direction.”

Kornacki noted that MSNBC’s latest national poll has Harris ahead by 1.2 points, a 1.8-point drop from a couple of weeks ago, and also highlighted the “razor-thin” margins in battleground states.

WATCH:

“They picked up on something that our own NBC poll was suggesting recently and that is a shift in the image of Kamala Harris. You can see right now in the CNBC poll, 42 positive, 48 negative. Higher negative than positive and that’s where Trump is too largely, 39, 49,” Kornacki said.

“The significance is about a month ago when we were polling this, Harris had a higher positive than negative,” Kornacki added. “In our poll and the CNBC poll and other polls out there right now you see Harris now with that negative going back above that positive rating.”

Both CBS and ABC News released polls showing Harris with a slim lead, but RealClearPolitics’ average still puts Trump 0.1 points ahead. Trump is also maintaining a slight lead across key battleground states, which are crucial for a November win, according to RealClearPolitics.
