The United States of America is gone, according to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.)
During an interview on Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast on Tuesday, Greene fumed about the decision by a jury in Manhattan to find former President Donald Trump guilty of 34 felony counts for falsifying business records ahead of the 2016 election.
“Our country is gone. We are post-Constitution,” the Georgia congresswoman claimed. “That’s because the Democrats and the State of the New York convicted President Trump for 34 felony counts that are fake charges and nothing but a political attack.”
She added, “This is a literal war. We have a banana republic. We’re no longer a serious country.”

At a separate point, Greene unloaded on Republicans in Congress for what she saw as insufficient action on their part:
“What we should be doing right now. Today, we should be voting to impeach Joe Biden because of the invasion in the United States. Oh, but no, none of that is happening up here in Washington, DC, because Republicans continually have their head up their ass and can’t figure out how to actually use the power that the people gave us.”
She added, “This is a new time in America, and I am so fed up, Steve. I am so fed up. I am so sick of it because I know people at home are sick of it. People are sick and tired of a feckless, useless Republican party that never does a damn thing to stop any of this. They just sit in the boat and row along with the Democrats and row.”
On Thursday, Trump was found guilty on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in an attempt to cover up a hush money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 election.
Conservatives have criticized the case and alleged it was an example of selective prosecution against Trump.
