House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) knows who she is supporting to become the Democratic nominee in the 2020 presidential election.
The House speaker officially tossed her support behind presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden to take on President Donald Trump in the general election in November.
In announcing her endorsement, Pelosi said, “As we face coronavirus, Joe has been a voice of reason and resilience, with a clear path to lead us out of this crisis.”
She continued, “Elections are about the future. Now more than ever, we need a forward-looking, battle-tested leader who will fight For The People: a President with the values, experience and the strategic thinking to bring our nation together and build a better, fairer world for our children.”
Pelosi said in a video sent to Biden supporters:
“For these and other reasons, I am proud to endorse Joe Biden for President: a leader who is the personification of hope and courage, values, authenticity, and integrity. With a Democratic majority in the House and Senate, we will deliver bold progress For The People – when we have President Joe Biden in the White House. So please join me in supporting Joe and help move America forward.”

Together, we helped pass Obamacare and together we can not only bring this country back from the brink from this current crisis, but transform it. https://t.co/nJG599w7lU
Pelosi’s endorsement comes at a time that an allegation against Biden is making headlines. In a recently uncovered video from the Larry King show in 1993, it shows accuser Tara Reade’s mother calling the show and possibly alluding to an allegation of sexual harassment and assault made against Biden — which his campaign has denied.
