Actress Octavia Spencer spoke out in support of Sandra Bullock after the passing of her longtime partner Bryan Randall following a private battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
On Tuesday, Spencer, 53, took to her Instagram page to give her condolences to her fellow actress Bullock, 59, and paid tribute to Randall.
“My heart is broken for Sandy and Bryan. Sandy lost her soulmate and the world lost a talented, handsome, all around good guy!” she wrote.
Spencer also extended her “prayers and condolences” to the couple’s families.
“RIP Bryan Randall. In heaven, there’s a tiny little lady up there who looks an awful lot like me bossing the Angels (sic) around,” she continued, adding “Especially Gabriel.”
“The Help” actress concluded, “She’ll get him to play any song you want to hear. Give her a kiss from me.”

On Monday, Randall’s family shared a statement with People exclusively following his death over the weekend.
“It is with great sadness that we share that on Aug. 5, Bryan Randall passed away peacefully after a three-year battle with ALS. Bryan chose early to keep his journey with ALS private and those of us who cared for him did our best to honor his request,” they said.
His family added, “We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours.”
They concluded their statement by asking for “privacy to grieve and to come to terms with the impossibility of saying goodbye to Bryan.”
Randall was 57 years old.
In a 2021 interview on Red Table Talk with actress Jada Pinkett Smith, Bullock referred to Randall as “the love of my life” following her divorce.
“We share two beautiful children – three children, his older daughter,” Bullock added, calling her relationship “the best thing ever.”
