Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) is responding to the backlash she received for her comment about Christians singing on an airplane.
On Monday afternoon, Omar re-tweeted PhillyMag’s Ernest Owens, who shared her original comments and wrote, “A point was made.”
“And the original snowflakes had a complete and glorious meltdown,” Omar added.

She wrote, “I think my family and I should have a prayer session next time I am on a plane. How do you think it will end?”

Omar received criticism for her comments:
Imagine having a chance to show a bit of interfaith grace, particularly during a time of year when all three monotheistic religions are celebrating their own occasions, and instead going for a cheap, mean, divisive, clout-chasing dunk. Wokeness is always an excuse to be toxic. https://t.co/SZ8GfQ5zhj

I’m a proud Jew and every time I see a joyous expression of someone else’s faith I try to highlight it because the world needs joy and faith begets faith. I don’t get why @IlhanMN has to come at this with malice when it’s such a clear opportunity to promote coexistence. https://t.co/OyaGN1mVS6

Would that be kind of like when “some people did something?” https://t.co/DAtFCfXsWq

I’ve been on many airlines from majority Muslim countries that play a Muslim prayer on the screen at takeoff. Never once concerned me and actually i thought it was pretty cool. https://t.co/g2Jc800POM

What's worse: a mass shooting or singing on a plane? Ilhan Omar only felt a need to comment on one of these. https://t.co/tYQm9UZFj9

You can't whine about public practice of your religion and then demand respect for the public practice of your religion. As a religious Jew, this country is better with MORE of this, not less. https://t.co/zHuCECnxee

Meanwhile, Vernon Jones, a Republican House candidate in Georgia, accused her of hating Christians as he tweeted, “Why do you hate Christians, Ilhan?”
“If the freedom of religion we enjoy here in America disturbs you, feel free to pack your bags and head back to Somalia, Sudan, or wherever you’re from,” he added.

The flight was reportedly chartered and not a commercial flight.
