There was a chill in the air at Arlington National Cemetery Tuesday morning — and it was not all due to the November weather.
The chill was also seen in the apparent frost reception Vice President Kamala Harris received from first lady Jill Biden at the National Veterans Day Observance event, according to a report on Fox News.
As Harris and second gentleman Douglas Emhoff went to take their seats next to Biden, Harris shook hands with all around — expect Biden.
And onlookers were quick to notice.
“It’s safe to say that Jill Biden hates Kamala Harris’ guts,” conservative commentator Steve Cortes wrote on X, formerly Twitter. He also share video proof of the interaction.
Harris took her seat while Biden stared ahead while wearing dark sunglasses.
“Jill Biden refused to even look at Kamala,” were the words posted to the X account “End Wokeness.”
Journalist Andy Ngo garnered a shot and described Biden as “stone face[d].”
“At a Veteran’s Day commemoration event in the capital, a stone face Jill Biden and Kamala Harris sit with a distance between one another, Ngo wrote on X. “Harris supporters have been blaming President Biden (in addition to racism, white supremacy, fascism and misogyny) for her losing the election.”
Remarks were made across the pond when Italian TV journalist Leonardo Panetta posted on X in Italian that Harris was “ignored” by Biden.
“Jill Biden… did not get up to greet her and then remained seated next to the vice president wearing sunglasses without deigning to look at her,” Panetta wrote. “Good climate in America.”
The two were attending an event which included watching the president lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
The Daily Mail reported the apparent cold reception wasn’t the case when it came to Emhoff, who Biden greeted “enthusiastically.”
