Former President Donald Trump’s support appears to be locked in for a large swath of his voters.
On Tuesday, a survey was released from Mainstreet Research asking Trump voters about one of his most famous claims.
“Trump has said he could shoot someone on 5th avenue in New York City, and people would still vote for him,” the survey noted.
It asked, “Would Trump actually shooting someone on 5th avenue impact your vote for him or against him? (Trump voters).”
According to the survey, 52% said it would have impact.
However, 48% said it would not impact their vote.

He'd somehow justify it and all of his supporters would still vote for him. https://t.co/nELGoP5pCr

If it's a justifiable shooting (like Rittenhouse), it would make me respect Trump even more. https://t.co/yf5yLod2tf

In 2016, Trump claimed, “I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn’t lose any voters, OK?”
“It’s, like, incredible,” he added.
