Potential Republican running mates will be heading to Florida for a major gathering this weekend, in which former President Donald Trump will headline.
- The Republican National Committee’s (RNC) Spring Donor Retreat will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Palm Beach, as well as Mar-a-Lago.
- Per Fox News, “special guests” include those who are on the shortlist for the running mate position.
- Some of the “special guests” are: Sens. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), JD Vance (R-Ohio), and Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum and South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, Reps. Elise Seefanik (R-N.Y.) and Byron Donalds (R-Fla.), and former 2024 presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.
- “The events this weekend are really more about raising money for the presidential race than it is about auditions for the potential VP candidates,” a Republican strategist told Fox News.
- Republican Jewish Coalition CEO Matt Brooks told the outlet, “This event takes on even greater significance in light of the fact that the President is constrained from travel due to his trial. While at the same time, Biden can travel all over the country to raise money.”
