The Princess of Wales is feeling “better,” Prince William reported Wednesday.
Prince William was on hand at a D-Day ceremony in Portsmouth.
He gave the update on his wife when a veteran asked about Kate Middleton.
A veteran told William about his experiences on D-Day 80 years ago then asked how Kate was, per NBC News.
“She is better, thanks. She would’ve loved to be here today,” William, 41, said.
Kate is undergoing cancer treatment and has been out of the public eye for months.
The 42-year-old princess said in a video she was undergoing “a course of preventative chemotherapy.”
Both Prince William and King Charles III spoke at Wednesday’s event.
The king himself is also battling cancer.
He spoke of the “courage, resilience and solidarity” on the part of those involved in the invasion of Normandy, considered the turning point of World War II.
“It is our duty to ensure that we and future generations do not forget their service and their sacrifice in replacing tyranny with freedom,” King Charles said.
