Princess Anne was hospitalized after she suffered a concussion and minor injuries in an incident Sunday, per a statement from Buckingham Palace on Monday.

The princess, 73, was taken to Southmead Hospital, Bristol, and admitted as a precautionary measure after an incident on the Gatcombe Park estate.

The cause of the injuries was not released, but the Associated Press reported there were horses in the area.

According to her medical team, her head injuries could have a result of an impact from a horse’s head or legs.

She is “expected to make a full and swift recovery” the palace said.

Princess Anne is the sister of King Charles III, who has been kept abreast of her condition.

“The King has been kept closely informed and joins the whole Royal Family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to The Princess for a speedy recovery,” the palace statement read.

The princess was walking within the protected perimeter of the estate when the incident occurred, the AP reported, citing Britain’s Press Association.

She was treated at the scene by emergency services on the estate before being transferred to the hospital.

She was accompanied by her husband, Vice Admiral Tim Laurence.

Princess Anne is one of the hardest working members of the royal family, the AP reported. This is especially true in recent months following the cancer diagnosis of King Charles.

Her engagements have been cancelled for the next few days and not attend the state dinner in the of the emperor of Japan.
