Princess Anne remained hospitalized Wednesday after sustaining a head injury Sunday.
Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, the Princess Royal’s husband, said she is “recovering slowly,” per the BBC.
Princess Anne, 73, has been in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, since she sustained a minor head injury and concussion at her Gloucestershire estate.
Investigators believe the injury was caused by a horse.
Laurence was questioned by reporters regarding her stay in the hospital.
“She’ll be out when she’s ready,” he said.
Princess Anne’s daughter Zara Tindall visited her mother Tuesday afternoon.
A statement from Buckingham Palace Monday said on Monday that Princess Anne was expected to stay in hospital until later this week “as a precautionary measure for observation.”
She is King Charles III’s only sister.
The Princess Royal is expected to make a full recovery.
However, she has had to cancel public events while recovering.
She missed the state banquet with the visiting Emperor and Empress of Japan on Tuesday.
A trip to Canada this week has been postponed.
She was injured when she was walking with horses nearby.
The princess has not been able to remember the details of what happened because of the concussion.
Her medical team said her head injury is consistent with an impact from a horse’s legs or head.
