A man who announced his intention to burn a copy of the Quran in Minneapolis claimed a left-wing protester stabbed him Saturday during an attack by a mob.
Jake Lang, a self-described “January 6 political prisoner,” announced plans to protest welfare fraud in Minnesota in a Saturday post on X. He also stated he wished to burn the book of Islamic scripture on the steps of Minneapolis City Hall. Lang said the only reason he was not injured was because his body armor “blocked” the knife.
“I just got stabbed by a crazie [sic] white commie leftist rioter today in Minnesota,” Lang posted after the attack. Lang live-streamed his protest on X, where video and audio of multiple assaults and confrontations were apparently caught on camera.

(@JakeLang) Independent journalist Cam Higby condemned the alleged assault in a Saturday evening post on X.
“Agree or disagree with @JakeLang (and I tend to disagree with his approach), there is NOTHING acceptable about what happened to him today,” Higby, who was attacked Monday along with fellow independent journalist Nick Sortor in the Minneapolis area, said.
Lang later said he went to a hospital for treatment, blaming Democratic Mayor Jacob Frey of Minneapolis for the incident.
“I was just literally LYNCHED by an anti white mob of liberals & illegal immigrants- I’m at the hospital now getting staples in my skull,” Lang posted on X. “Nearly ripped limb from limb in Minneapolis!!!! Jacob Frey took the officers at the Minneapolis Police to stand down, so they could watch me eaten live on national television!!!!!”

The Trump administration ramped up immigration enforcement in the Minneapolis–St. Paul area after reports of a fraud scandal in Minnesota which officials estimate involves at least $9 billion in funds stolen by Somali scammers. President Donald Trump subsequently announced in November he would end Temporary Protected Status for Somalis in the state.
Jorge Ventura, reporting for the Daily Caller News Foundation, recorded video of a left-wing mob attacking another attendee of Lang’s protest who was reportedly both hit in the head repeatedly and bleeding from at least one head wound. Ventura also captured a photo of a masked individual holding what appears to be an AR-15 pistol at a demonstration, as well as video of a member of a left-wing mob cursing at law enforcement officers.
