About gimp

Gimp é uma guarnição ornamental estreita usada em costura ou bordado. É feita de seda, lã, poliéster ou algodão e frequentemente rigidificada com arame metálico ou cordão grosso que passa por ela. Gimp é usada como guarnição para vestidos, cortinas, móveis etc. Originalmente o termo se referia a um fio com um cordão ou arame no centro, mas agora é usado principalmente para uma guarnição trançada ou torcida a partir desse fio. Às vezes o gimp é coberto com miçangas ou lantejoulas.
