That break will be this week alter the queen stepped up appearances in light of King Charles’ cancer diagnosis and Princess Kate Middleton’s abdominal surgery.
Palace officials told People that this break is not out of the norm for the queen.
This break is a “scheduled week of private time which is usual for her at this time of year and points out that it is not connected to King Charles’ health.”
Her next royal engagement will be March 11 at Westminster Abbey in London for the Commonwealth Day service.
This leaves Prince William, 41, with the bulk of duties this week. King Charles continues to work while remaining out of the public eye, People said.
Last week was busy for the prince as he throne visited the Western Marble Arch Synagogue in London and spent St. David’s Day with several engagements in Wales, per the outlet.
“It is hard with Kate being ill as well, but he will step up,” a source close to the royal household previously told People.
Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh are also expected to increase their appearances, according to People.
