American rapper Travis Scott was arrested in Paris after allegedly fighting a security guard at a luxury hotel, French authorities said Friday.
“I can confirm that on August 9, 2024, police officers were called to the George V hotel and arrested the rapper nicknamed Travis Scott for assaulting a security guard,” the Paris prosecutor’s officer said in a statement, NBC News reported.
“The security guard had intervened to separate the rapper from his bodyguard. The Paris public prosecutor’s office has referred the case to the 1st district of the judicial police,” the statement read, No further details were released.
Scott, 33, whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster II, attended the men’s Olympic basketball semifinal Thursday.
The U.S. team came from behind to win. The team will now proceed to the final and have a shot at winning gold.
Scott was arrested in June and charged with disorderly intoxication after he allegedly yelled at people on a yacht in Miami Beach, Florida.
His lawyer said the incident was a simple “misunderstanding.”
Scott has not commented on the arrest.
