U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) has recorded record numbers of illegal immigrant encounters in 2023.

Bret Bair reported during his Fox News show, “The numbers are staggering.”

He explained that “730,000 have come across the border in certain areas since Oct. 1.”

According to the CBP Enforcement Statistics Fiscal Year 2023, over 3 million enforcement actions were carried out. That’s over a 500% increase since 2017.

The fiscal year ended on Sept. 30 so the last quarter surges are not included in the report, but the CBP October report noted 240,998 southwest encounters were recorded and included 1,198 rescues.

In addition, the CBP November report saw 242,418 encounters with illegal immigrants and 391 rescues.

The House Committee on Homeland Security released a fact sheet in October which noted that since the start of the Biden administration’s term in office there have been 7.5 million encounters with illegal immigrants.

This also noted that 35,433 criminals have been caught crossing into the U.S. There were 27,293 pounds of fentanyl seized coming across the border, and 169 people, who are currently on the U.S. terrorist watchlist, have been caught attempting to enter the country.

Fox News also posted footage of what is being called the “biggest caravan so far this year” heading toward the southern border.

Former Rep. Mayra Flores (R-Texas), the first Mexican-born female congresswoman to represent Texas, posted about the situation on X, formerly Twitter, Wednesday.

She stated, “A caravan is headed to the US Border and could be the largest ever at over 15,000 people. The migrant rights leader heading the group has said they won’t stop until they reach the United States.”
