Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is eyeing New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers as his vice president.
CNN reported how Rodgers has claimed the tragedy in 2012 when 26 people, mostly children, were killed by a gunman was not real.
“Sandy Hook never happened … All those children never existed. They were all actors,” Rodgers reportedly said to a person CNN didn’t name.
Rodgers continued by saying those involved, including the parents of the victims were “… all making it up. They’re all actors.”
The NFL player also spoke with CNN reporter Pamela Brown who he met at an after party for the Kentucky Derby in 2023.
“Hearing that she was a journalist with CNN, Rodgers immediately began attacking the news media for covering up important stories,” CNN reported.”Rodgers brought up the tragic killing of 20 children and 6 adults by a gunman at Sandy Hook Elementary School, claiming it was actually a government inside job and the media was intentionally ignoring it.”
Rodgers went on to expound on many theories that were never been proven. Such theories were also lauded by conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, who was sued by families of the victims.
“Family members throughout that trial described in poignant terms how the lies had prompted unrelenting harassment against them and compounded the emotional agony of losing their loved ones,” per CNN of the 2022 trial.
Brown said Rodgers asked her about men in black behind the school. He claimed these men were government operatives, which was not true.
“Brown found the encounter disturbing,” CNN reported, adding, ”Rodgers, through one of his agents, declined to comment to CNN.”
Kennedy is expected to name his running mate on March 26 in Oakland, California. Former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura is also on the short list for the candidate.
