It may be safe to say country singer Ingrid Andress did not hit a home run while singing the National Anthem at the 2024 MLB Home Run Derby Monday.
Andress, a four-time Grammy nominee, sang the National Anthem and according to those in attendance as well as those on X, formerly Twitter, she didn’t hit it out of the park, per Variety.
Andress opened the event at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
As she started singing, she missed notes, which drew visible reactions from the players.
Social media likened the performance to Fergie’s disastrous live version of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the 2018 NBA All-Star Game and Roseanne Barr’s rendition of the song at a Padres game in 1990.
