The U.S. State Department announced Tuesday that it’s revoking the visas of individuals who either celebrated the murder of Turning Point USA (TPUSA) founder Charlie Kirk or mocked other Americans.

Following Kirk’s assassination on Sept. 10, some Democrats took to social media to celebrate, posting videos on TikTok and other platforms. In a post on X, the State Department said the U.S. has “no obligation to host foreigners who wish death on Americans.”

“The State Department continues to identify visa holders who celebrated the heinous assassination of Charlie Kirk. Here are just a few examples of aliens who are no longer welcome in the U.S,” the post said. “[President Trump] and [Secretary Rubio] will defend our borders, our culture, and our citizens by enforcing our immigration laws.”

“Aliens who take advantage of America’s hospitality while celebrating the assassination of our citizens will be removed,” the post added.

In the thread posted to X, the State Department shared examples of comments made by some of the foreigners whose visas have been revoked.

“An Argentine national said that Kirk ‘devoted his entire life spreading racist, xenophobic, misogynistic rhetoric’ and deserves to burn in hell. Visa revoked,” the State Department wrote with a picture of the post attached.

In a post from an Argentine national, the foreigner wrote, “charlie kirk can rest in fucking piss and yet again if you have any empathy at all for people like this you can [go] ahead and remove yourself as my friend.”

The State Department also shared a post from a South African national, which said, “neanderthals can’t have their cake & eat it.”

Should the U.S. revoke visas for foreigners who celebrated Charlie Kirk's death?

“This weekend they went openly anti-black racist & now they’re hurt that the racist rally ended in attempted martyrdom? Charlie Kirk won’t be remembered as a hero. He was used to astroturf a movement of white nationalist trailer trash!” the post continued.

The State Department additionally wrote that a Mexican national’s visa was revoked after stating Kirk “died being a racist, he died being a misogynist” and saying that “there are people who deserve to die. There are people who would make the world better off dead.”

The department also said it revoked visas for a Brazilian national, a German national and a Paraguayan national for similar reasons, including the text of the posts from each individual.

While many around the world held vigils to remember the TPUSA founder, some Democrats pushed back against the support that Kirk and TPUSA were receiving. Backlash, however, soon followed for those who publicly posted videos celebrating his death, with some fired from their jobs.

The announcement from the State Department comes after President Donald Trump posthumously awarded Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom on Tuesday. The ceremony, held in the White House Rose Garden on Kirk’s 32nd birthday, included TPUSA members as well as friends and Kirk’s widow Erika Kirk attending.

Erika Kirk received the award on behalf of her late husband, giving an emotional speech reflecting on his legacy and thanking Trump for the medal.
