Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) did not cast his vote for President Donald Trump. However, he is not revealing who he voted for.

Speaking CNN’s Manu Raju on Wednesday, Romney said, “I did not vote for President Trump.”

However, he did not reveal if he cast his vote for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden or if he wrote in someone else.

Mitt Rommey told me he already voted in the elections but he wouldn’t say if he voted for Joe Biden or wrote someone else in.

Romney and the president have had a contentious relationship dating back to the 2016 campaign when he denounced Trump as a “phony” and a “fraud.”

Since he became the junior senator from Utah, Romney has been critical of Trump and spoken out to condemn the president’s words or deeds.

In February, Romney broke with his party and voted to convict Trump on one article of impeachment — becoming the only Republican to vote to convict the president.

After his vote in the impeachment trial, Trump lashed out on Twitter, “Had failed presidential candidate [Mitt Romney] devoted the same energy and anger to defeating a faltering Barack Obama as he sanctimoniously does to me, he could have won the election.”

He also mocked Romney when it was revealed the senator was quarantining after he had contact with Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who tested positive for COVID-19.

And he took a jab at the senator for joining racial justice protesters in a march in Washington, D.C. He said, “Tremendous sincerity, what a guy. Hard to believe, with this kind of political talent, his numbers would ‘tank’ so badly in Utah!”

Despite Romney’s complicated relationship with Trump, he has mostly towed the part in the Senate. An examination of Romney’s voting record finds he has voted in line with Trump’s position 81.6% of the time in the Senate.

Additionally, in June, he said he believed the president would win reelection, “And I actually, have long predicted the president will be reelected — I continue to think that’s the case.”

Still, polls show that it would be an uphill climb for Trump to secure a second term in the White House.
