When news broke that U.S. Special Forces had captured Venezuela’s long-time socialist dictator Nicolás Maduro, you could practically hear the collective exhale from Venezuelans around the globe. After decades of brutal oppression, food shortages, blackouts, and alleged narco-terrorism, the man who turned a once-wealthy oil-rich nation into a cautionary tale of socialist disaster was finally facing justice — not just in spirit, but in a federal courtroom. And while the professional pearl-clutchers on the far left clung to their outrage scripts, Venezuelan communities in the United States did what free people do: they celebrated.

🚨 BREAKING: The left-wing media was just caught REFUSING to cover the fact tens of THOUSANDS of Venezuelans are celebrating Donald Trump’s victory over Maduro in Buenos Aires

In Las Vegas, the Venezuelan community didn’t just crack open a bottle of champagne — they threw a “Venezuela Libre” party, complete with music, dancing, and yes, a whole lot of American flags waving right alongside the Venezuelan ones. Because when your country has been held hostage for over two decades by a guy allegedly running a literal drug cartel while masquerading as a “man of the people,” there’s no shame in partying when justice finally shows up.

In Doral, Florida — nicknamed “Doralzuela” for its massive Venezuelan-American population — hundreds took to the streets in celebration. And if you needed a reminder of just how deeply this moment matters, one young man told Local10 News, “My chest, it feels like it’s going to explode with joy.” He described generations of his family fighting for a Venezuela that once had democracy, a Venezuela he’d only heard about in stories. Now, thanks to President Trump’s bold leadership, that Venezuela doesn’t just belong in memory — it might actually have a shot at coming back.

And let’s be clear: this wasn’t some messy, prolonged operation. There weren’t boots on the ground for months. This was a fast, flawless, coordinated takedown — and not a single American life was lost. Imagine that. A mission executed with precision, by the book, and without the usual PR spin or empty diplomacy. Just results. Something we didn’t see much of under the previous administration — you know, the one that handed Afghanistan back to the Taliban and left behind American citizens and billions in equipment as a parting gift.

NEW: Secretary Marco Rubio fires back at Kristen Welker after she asked why the U.S. needs Venezuela’s oil, rips all the “clowns” who think they’re experts on Venezuela.

Welker: “Why does the United States need to take over Venezuela’s oil.”

Rubio: “We don’t need Venezuela’s… pic.twitter.com/BXBpBCogdd

Should the U.S. have intervened in Venezuela to capture Maduro?

Meanwhile, Democrats who usually weep on cue over “human rights” and “democracy” found themselves weirdly quiet or, in some cases, furious that a socialist dictator was finally captured. You’d think they’d be cheering. Instead, they’re more concerned about whether the operation fits neatly into their academic definition of international law — as if Maduro ever cared about laws to begin with.

Socialism — and let’s not sugarcoat this — destroyed Venezuela. Period. Noah Kagan, the CEO of AppSumo, put it bluntly when he said that under Maduro’s reign, the country went from being the crown jewel of South America to a place he “personally cannot even visit for fear of getting kidnapped.” His wife’s family lived through the nightmare. From the world’s largest oil reserves and booming economy to daily power outages, no basic medicine, and citizens risking their lives just to leave. This is what socialism actually looks like when you strip away the protest signs and the college-campus fantasy version.

Even Daniel Di Martino, a fellow at the Manhattan Institute who fled Venezuela, reminded viewers that nearly a third of Venezuelans were forced to leave their own country. “This is why I have no immediate relatives in Venezuela,” he said. “We all ended up leaving in the last ten years.” Think about that: families fractured, lives uprooted, generations scattered — all because one man and his cronies clung to power while the nation starved.

And now, he’ll face a courtroom in the Southern District of New York. Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed that Maduro and his wife have been indicted on charges including alleged narco-terrorism, cocaine importation, and conspiracy to possess destructive weapons — all against the United States. Not a great look for the guy some on the left once treated like a misunderstood champion of the poor.

President Trump made it official in a Truth Social post: “The United States of America has successfully carried out a large scale strike against Venezuela and its leader… This operation was done in conjunction with U.S. Law Enforcement.”

Meanwhile, across America — from Miami to Vegas to New York — real Venezuelans danced in the streets, celebrated with their families, and looked toward the future for the first time in years. And you know what? That joy is real. That hope is earned. And it came not from empty slogans or U.N. panels, but from action.

Turns out, strong leadership and a little courage still go a long way.
