Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is calling out President Donald Trump and urging him to focus on doing his job.
On Wednesday night, Sanders appeared on “Jimmy Fallon Live” where he discussed the Democratic primaries and the current state of the world as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The Vermont senator also shared his opinion of Trump and his response efforts to combat the outbreak.
On multiple occasions, Trump has taken to Twitter blasting the Democratic National Committee and its candidates. He has also suggested that the Democratic primary race “rigged” to ensure Sanders doesn’t win the nomination.
During their discussion about the Democratic primary, Fallon asked Sanders if he thought Trump is right.
However, Sanders offered a different perspective on the situation. He noted all of the problems currently plaguing the United States and accused Trump of failing to prioritize what’s important.
“What amazes me, here we have a stock market that is collapsing, you have a coronavirus that is scaring the entire world, we have climate change, which is a threat to the human planet and Donald Trump keeps worrying about the Democratic primary,” Sanders said.
Sanders went on to offer Trump a word of advice, urging him to stop watching Fox News and focus on his job.
“So, Mr. President, if you watch anything other than Fox [News], I don’t know that you do,” he continued, as the audience laughed. “Why don’t you do your job! Pay attention to the needs of the American people. Don’t worry so much about the Democratic primary.”
