Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger made a bold statement in a video he posted to his Instagram, where he called for Russian President Vladimir Putin to “stop this war.”
“I’m speaking to you today because there are things that are going on in the world that are being kept from you. Terrible things that you should know about,” Schwarzenegger said, speaking to the Russian people.
He went on to say that he understands “no one likes to hear something critical of their government,” but he has been a long-time friend of the Russian people and hopes that his viewers will hear what he has to say.
“I know that your government has told you that this is a war to denazify Ukraine. Denazify Ukraine? This is not true,” Schwarzenegger said.
Continuing, he said, “Ukraine is a country with a Jewish President, a Jewish President, I might add, whose father’s three brothers were all murdered by the Nazis.”
Schwarzenegger told his viewers that “Ukraine did not start this war. Neither did Nationalists or Nazis.”
“Those in power in the Kremlin started this war. This is not the Russian people’s war,” he explained.
Schwarzenegger said there were 141 nations who after voting at the U.N. decided that Russia was “the aggressor.”
“They called for it to remove its troops immediately,” he said.
Schwarzenegger went on to say “only four countries in the entire world voted with Russia,” calling it, “a fact.”
“Three million Ukrainian refugees, mainly women, children, and the elderly, fled their country. And many more are trying to seek to get out,” he said, calling it a “humanitarian crisis.”

Proverbs 31:8-9 says, “Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy.”
Schwarzenegger also shared the “brutality” that the people of Russia are facing, saying, “Thousands of Russian soldiers have been killed.”
“The destruction that Russian bombs are raining down upon innocent civilians has so outraged the world that the strongest global economic sanctions ever taken have been imposed on your country,” he said.
Schwarzenegger then addressed those in power in Russia, asking, “Why would you sacrifice those young men for your own ambitions?”
Addressing Putin directly Schwarzenegger said, “You started this war. You are leading this war. You can stop this war.”
