Salem Radio Network host Scott Jennings said Monday on “The Source with Kaitlan Collins” that the attendees of Saturday’s “No Kings” protests could have better used their time to knock on doors in states like Virginia and New Jersey.

Dozens of protests against President Donald Trump took place nationwide on Saturday, with prominent Trump critic George Conway observed at one demonstration wearing a T-shirt proclaiming himself as a member of Antifa. Jennings mocked the “crazy cat costumes” that appeared at some of the events, even as he admitted Republicans were struggling to get voters to turn out in elections where Trump was not on the ballot.

“There is obviously energy in opposing Donald Trump. Of course, there was energy in opposing him last year, and he won the election,” Jennings told CNN host Kaitlan Collins. “One of the things the Republican Party has yet to prove that it can figure out is how to get people, who vote for Trump, to turn out in midterm elections. That is a concern rolling for the Republican Party. So, of course, you take nothing for granted in politics.”

Republicans underperformed expectations of a “red wave” nationally in the 2022 midterm elections, gaining only a few seats in the House of Representatives and losing one seat in the Senate.

“I would point out, though, they would have had a better use of their time this weekend, knocking on doors in Virginia or New Jersey, than marching around the mall or whatever, in crazy cat costumes, this weekend. But, but that’s how they chose to — that’s how they chose to use their time,” Jennings said of the protests, which featured some instances where the protesters made death threats against prominent conservatives.

Journalist Brandi Kruse posted a video of a protester at the Seattle “No Kings” rally being interviewed while holding a sign that said, “Would You Like To Kill Nazis [With] Me?” During the exchange, the man said he would kill Miller, whom he called a “Nazi,” if he got the chance.

Should protesters focus on political actions like door knocking rather than protests?

Kruse later reported that the FBI was investigating the man’s threats. Kruse also posted a video showing another protester who said that killing Miller would be “justifiable.”

Miller and his family were forced to move from their home in Arlington, Virginia, after a campaign of harassment that included writing messages like “Stephen Miller is destroying democracy,” “no white nationalism” and “trans rights are human rights” on public sidewalks near his residence, along with posting flyers that listed his home address.

In a video posted Saturday by The Maine Wire, a “No Kings” protester said that for her birthday, she wanted to wake up the next morning to read Trump’s obituary.

“You’re wishing that President Trump is dead?” the reporter asked her, and she replied, “Yes. Absolutely.”

At another “No Kings” event, this one in Chicago, a man urged attendees to shoot United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

“You gotta grab a gun, we gotta turn around the guns on this fascist system. These ICE agents gotta get shot and wiped out,” the man, who stood in front of a banner for the Progressive Labor Party, said. “The same machinery that’s on full display right there has to get wiped out.”

Also in Chicago, a “No Kings” protester made a “neck shot” gesture at counter-protesters who unveiled a flag honoring Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated on Sept. 10, according to a video originally posted to Instagram before it was reposted on X by Colin Rugg. Posts on social media later identified the protester as a public school teacher in the Chicago area.
