Independent Nebraska Senate candidate Dan Osborn cancelled a fundraiser set to take place Tuesday, that would have been co-hosted by a Democratic political advisor who allegedly helped transport young girls for Jeffrey Epstein.
Dana Chasin, who helped advise Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and donated more than $2 million to the Democratic Party, was listed on an invitation to Osborn’s cancelled campaign fundraiser event, Politico reported. An unnamed spokesperson for the Osborn campaign told Politico that the event was cancelled and said “anyone who hurt kids or engaged in other illegal activity needs to be arrested and prosecuted.”
A 2024 email mentioning Chasin was recently released by the Department of Justice (DOJ) as part of the Epstein files. The email was sent by Jeanne Christensen, a lawyer representing an unnamed woman who alleged being sex trafficked by Epstein, to a DOJ attorney. It alleges that Chasin flew the unnamed woman using his small plane to Epstein’s townhouse in New York multiple times and on one occasion and that the woman had sex with Larry Summers — the former Clinton-era Treasury Secretary who is mentioned prominently in the Epstein files.
Osborn made a series of anti-Epstein posts to X on Monday, criticizing the individuals involved in Epstein’s as a “small, powerful group of ELITES who think they can do anything they want on this earth.”
Chasin previously donated $3,300 to Osborn’s failed 2024 Senate campaign, according to Federal Election Commission (FEC) records obtained by Politico. The Osborn campaign told the outlet it donated an equivalent amount to Chasin’s donation to a non-profit organization in Nebraska, focused on combating child trafficking and abuse.
Osborn lost his 2024 campaign to Republican Nebraska Sen. Deb Fischer by seven percentage points — while President Donald Trump carried the state by 20 points. He is running in the 2026 election against Republican Nebraska Sen. Pete Ricketts. While a registered independent, he is endorsed by the Nebraska Democratic Party, who is not fielding a candidate in the race.
The Osborn campaign did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.
