Jordanna Barrett, wife of Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Shaquil Barrett, broke her silence following the accidental drowning of their daughter.
On Wednesday, Jordanna Barrett paid tribute to the couple’s 2-year-old daughter, Arrayah, on her Instagram page. She thanked her followers for “all the messages, flowers, thoughts and prayers.”
“Our world will never be the same. Arrayah was the apple of my eye, and my heart will forever be with hers. I love you so much my baby,” she wrote in the caption of a photo of Arrayah.
She added, “I am so so sorry.”
Jordanna Barrett also asked her little girl to look after her family.
She shared:
“Until we see each other again, please watch over your siblings and momma and dada. We love you forever and ever and always. I can’t wait to see that precious smile again, and just hug you so close. I would do absolutely anything.”
She concluded her post, writing, “There is no Barrett 6 without you, and we will forever hold your place down here, until we all meet again in heaven. I love you forever and always.”

Jordanna Barrett also added a link to Arrayah’s obituary where she was described as a child who “had a contagious burst of energy, and never seized to brighten any room she entered.”
On the morning of April 30, police responded to the Barretts’ home in Tampa, Florida, about a child falling into a pool, per the Tampa Bay Times.
The child was then transported to a local hospital and life-saving measures were taken. However, she died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
Per a statement given by the Tampa Police Department, it was a “purely accidental and tragic incident” with no indication of foul play. However, an investigation into her death is still ongoing.
Following the news of Arrayah’s passing, the Buccaneers released a statement on Twitter, offering their condolences to the Barrett family.
“Today’s tragic news is heartbreaking for all members of the Buccaneers family. Our thoughts and prayers are with Shaq, Jordanna (sic) and the entire Barrett family during this unimaginably difficult time. While no words can provide true comfort at a time such as this, we offer our support and love as they begin to process this very profound loss of their beloved Arrayah,” the statement read.
