“Saturday Night Live” (SNL) mocked President Joe Biden’s moment where he tripped walking up the stairs of Air Force One.
Opening a “Weekend Update” segment, SNL’s Colin Jost said, “Well, this week kind of felt like Biden on those stairs. You thought it had to get better, but then it repeatedly got worse.”
He went on to touch on Biden’s call for universal background checks in the wake of two fatal mass shootings in the U.S. in a week.
Jost later added of Biden’s Air Force One moment, “I would just like to congratulate Biden on how well he did the worm down those stairs,” before an edited clip of Biden’s trip played.

Biden tripped three times while walking up the Air Force One stairs on March 19.
The White House said that it was “very windy outside” and Biden is doing “100% fine.” White House Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre also said, “I almost fell coming up the steps myself.”
Additionally, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki told reporters at a press briefing on March 22, “I don’t know if you’ve been up those steps, they’re a little tricky sometimes.”
However, former President Donald Trump did not stay silent after Biden’s moment walking up the stairs.
“I watch as Joe Biden went up the stairs today and I said ‘I didn’t lose to him,’ which we didn’t lose to him. Almost 75 million votes and probably a lot more than that,” Trump said. The former president continued to push unsubstantiated claims of voter fraud following the 2020 presidential election.
During the SNL segment, “Weekend Update” co-anchor Michael Che touched on Biden’s press conference, noting it was an hour-long.
“Wow, shout out to Fixodent,” he joked, adding that Biden was asked if he will be running for reelection in 2024, “Which is probably the nicest way to ask him if he plans on being alive in three years,” as the comedian put it.
