Five soldiers were shot at Fort Stewart in Georgia Wednesday morning.

The shooting occurred in the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team (ABCT) area, per Fox News.

Medical assistance was provided on-site. The injured were then moved to Winn Army Community Hospital, Fort Stewart officials said.

Law enforcement was dispatched at 10:56 a.m. The suspected shooter was taken into custody at 11:35 a.m.

President Donald Trump is aware of the incident, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt wrote on social media.

The area — excluding the 2nd ABCT complex — was on lockdown until 12:10 p.m. The complex is still on lockdown.

The community is not in danger, officials said.

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp asked for prayers for the victims on X.

“Marty, the girls, and I are saddened by today’s tragedy at Ft. Stewart,” Kemp wrote. “We are keeping the victims, their families, and all those who answer the call to serve in our hearts and prayers, and we ask that Georgians everywhere do the same.”

As we remain in close contact with law enforcement on the ground, Marty, the girls, and I are saddened by today’s tragedy at Ft. Stewart. We are keeping the victims, their families, and all those who answer the call to serve in our hearts and prayers, and we ask that Georgians…

Rep. Buddy Carter (R-Ga.) also asked for prayers.
