The fall unfolded after a chaotic arrest scene earlier in the day.

His remarks come as the Department of Homeland Security investigates two fatal incidents involving Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol agents in Minnesota.

Bovino has drawn sharp criticism for his aggressive posture on immigration and for his public comments following the most recent shooting.

City leaders urged calm as details emerged.

Department of Justice officials vowed to investigate the incident, with Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon emphasizing potential federal civil rights violations. 

“The MAGA administration and the fake news MAGAs are losing their mind over something that’s not even true."

“We’re here to arrest a child sex offender. And you guys are out here honking."

“If the corrupt politicians of Minnesota don’t obey the law and stop the professional agitators and insurrectionists from attacking the Patriots of I.C.E. … I will institute the INSURRECTION ACT.”

The incident unfolded as the agent attempted to conduct a traffic stop connected to the arrest effort.

The federal agent involved in the Jan. 7 shooting suffered internal bleeding after being struck by the woman’s vehicle. 

“All the patriots of ICE want to do is remove them from your neighborhood and send them back to the prisons and mental institutions from where they came …”

“They then used vehicles to BLOCK US as we were running, forcing me to throw the truck off the road to go around them."

"He was completely justified."

ICE said Yusuf was in the country illegally at the time of the arrest and posed a continued threat to public safety.
