The incident happened Thursday night when a group of students went to Hughes’ home carrying toilet paper as part of a long-running prank tradition involving the teacher.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office said Hughes stepped outside his home around 11:40 p.m. after noticing unusual activity on his property.

“Somebody could come out with a gun, and you could never know, these kids could be dead just for a stupid prank."

It worked.
