A routine shift at a Sacramento convenience store quickly spiraled into disorder when a large group of teens stormed inside, leaving destruction in their wake and a lone worker struggling to keep control.

According to Fox News, the incident unfolded on March 19 at a Chevron gas station along Folsom Boulevard in Sacramento, where surveillance footage captured the chaotic scene.

The Sacramento Police Department said officers were alerted that night to a disturbance involving roughly 25 to 30 juveniles at a location in the 8000 block of Folsom Boulevard. However, the initial caller indicated they did not expect a response from the police at the time.

Days later, on March 23, the business formally reported that items had been stolen during the incident. A patrol officer then took a robbery report, and authorities say the investigation remains in its early stages.

Video obtained by FOX 40 shows how the situation escalated rapidly. What began as a smaller group soon turned into dozens of teens flooding into the store, knocking merchandise off shelves and tossing snacks and drinks through the aisles.

Store manager Shailesh Chand said only one employee was working at the time and was left alone to deal with the sudden surge of people and destruction.

“They feel that they can just walk in any store and pick up things and throw things and do whatever they can do and run away,” Chand told FOX 40.

Footage shows chips, candy, and beverages flying through the air as the group moved throughout the store, leaving a trail of damage behind.

Should stricter measures be implemented to prevent similar incidents at convenience stores?

“The crowd was trying to throw candies at him,” Chand said.

He added that incidents like this have become more frequent and increasingly aggressive, going beyond simple theft.

“People who do all these things, they tend to be hostile, also aggressive,” he said.

Chand noted the business has repeatedly had to repair or replace its front door due to similar disruptions in recent months.

He is now hoping those responsible will be identified.

“With the current fluctuations of gas price, it’s kind of hard to survive in this business,” Chand told FOX 40. “We are suffering loss already.”

Police say the group involved may also be tied to other disturbances reported the same night. Officers did not initially respond to the Chevron location because a formal report had not yet been filed.
