As President Joe Biden approaches the end of his term, Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume appeared on the network Monday and discussed what he said were the flaws in Biden’s foreign policy.

During an appearance on “Special Report With Bret Baier,” Hume said there were mixed outcomes with Biden’s tenure. Hume said Biden bolstered alliances, but those successes were overshadowed by less favorable outcomes elsewhere.

“He made some pretty extravagant statements about how much better off we are all around the world. Some of what he said is true. There are strengthened alliances, especially in Asia, where there’s a group, several groups of nations in which the U.S. is a part that are combined as bulwark against China’s expansionist ambitions,” Hume told Bret Baier. “But around the rest of the world, it’s a much more troubling picture. The withdrawal from Afghanistan, I think it is entirely reasonable to say, encouraged the dictator in Beijing and, more importantly, the dictator in Moscow to do what he did in Ukraine.”

Hume criticized the ongoing approach to the conflicts in the Middle East, particularly the U.S. stance on Israel’s military engagements.

WATCH:

“Although Israel really has the upper hand. And, you know, the president’s obsession from day one, he’s still talking about it today, is getting a ceasefire. Now, Israel, virtually from the beginning of that conflict that broke out after October 7, 2023, Israel has been winning. And, you know, it defies belief to me that what you want to do when you have an ally in a war and an ally is winning is to stop the fighting,” Hume said. “But that’s been his obsession from the beginning, and I think in a number of ways, he has held Israel back and delayed the moment of victory for Israel. And Israel has just about achieved it anyway.”

Hume also touched on the support—or lack thereof—that the U.S. has provided to its allies, including Israel and Ukraine. Despite some assistance, Hume said that both nations have not received the level of support they desired, impacting their respective conflicts and contributing to a dragged-out state of indecisiveness, especially in Ukraine.

“The weakness that Mr. Biden described among some of our enemies, particularly Iran and its proxies, is almost entirely attributable to Israel fighting. Now, yes, it has had some U.S. support. There’s no doubt about that, very important. But it has not gotten all the support that it wanted, nor has Ukraine and its struggle against Vladimir Putin and his ambitions. And I think the world is going to, is paying something of a price for the fact that those two conflicts have dragged on as long as they have, and at least in the case of Ukraine is indecisive,” Hume said.
