A caller on “The Breakfast Club” became agitated Tuesday after journalist Morgyn Wood referred to President Donald Trump as “the president.”
Wood repeatedly called Trump “President Trump” and “the president” during the show’s “Front Page News” segment. In the subsequent “Get It Off Your Chest” segment, a female caller — who appeared to mistake co-host Jess Hilarious for the one who used Trump’s title — called in to vent her frustration and ultimately hung up on the show.
LISTEN:
“I just have a really big problem … Jess keeps calling that orange guy Donald Trump, ‘the president,’” the caller said. “And everybody else on the news channels are just calling him ‘Donald Trump.’ Like, are y’all proud of him?”
“Girl, listen, he the president of the United States,” Jess responded. “It’s okay.”
The caller insisted Trump was not actually the president.
“He is. I don’t know who he is then. What you think he is? You know what I mean? It ain’t about riding with him,” Jess replied. “It ain’t about none of that. It is what it is, you know what I mean?”
“It isn’t what it is. He’s told you two or three times that he’s stolen the election,” the caller shot back. “Y’all sound real ignorant.”
Jess said the caller seemed unwilling to “face reality.”
“He is the president. Have a good day, baby girl. Don’t worry about what I call him. He is the president of the United States. If you don’t like it, you got to move,” she added. “You got to just move out the country. I don’t like it either, but I’m not running away from the fact that Donald Trump is our president. That’s what it is.”
Co-host DJ Envy then said the caller hung up.
Trump defeated former Vice President Kamala Harris in November, winning all seven battleground states and the national popular vote. Harris conceded the race and pushed her supporters to accept the election outcome.
The president was sworn in as the 47th president on Jan. 20 and declared a new “golden age” in America during his inaugural address inside the Capitol Rotunda.
