From the leader of the Border Patrol union to a coalition of angel families, advocates of beefed up immigration enforcement say President Donald Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” has all the ingredients to lock in recent border security wins.

House GOP leadership corralled pivotal stakeholder support for the border provisions within the reconciliation package recently passed by the House of Representatives in May. Border hawks point to funding for more border wall material, immigration enforcement agents and a slate of other critical funding measures as reasons why the bill must reach Trump’s desk.

“The men and women of the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) are proud to announce our support for the House One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” Paul Perez, president of the NBPC, the union that represents rank and file Border Patrol agents, said in a statement to the Daily Caller News Foundation.

“This legislation provides a once in a generation investment in the border security of our great country and will make America safer,” Perez added. “This legislation provides for thousands of new patrol vehicles, the hiring of thousands of additional Border Patrol Agents, and improves retention and recruitment by using incentives and protecting benefits, along with unprecedented investments in physical infrastructure, such as roads along our borders.”

Specifically, the reconciliation package includes funding for the completion of more than 700 miles of primary wall, 900 miles of river barriers, 629 miles of secondary barriers and replacement of around 140 miles of pedestrian and vehicle barriers, according to House Majority Whip Tom Emmer. The legislation also doles out funding for 3,000 new Border Patrol agents and 5,000 new Office of Field Operations customs officers.

The “big, beautiful bill” will additionally beef up interior enforcement, providing needed resources to deportation officers working all across the U.S.

Roughly 10,000 new Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and Homeland Security criminal investigators would be hired, according to the spending provisions. Funding for at least one million deportations via ground and air transportations would also be provided.

“The ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ is not just another piece of legislation — it’s a lifeline,” a coalition of angel families, those who have lost loved ones from illegal migrants, said in a public statement. “It is a long-overdue step toward restoring the rule of law, prioritizing public safety, and finally putting American families ahead of politics.”

“This coalition is our voice — and this bill is our moment,” their statement continued.

Among the angel family members backing the bill are Alexis Nungaray and Patty Morin, the mothers of Jocelyn Nungaray and Rachel Morin, respectively. Their daughters were allegedly sexually assaulted and murdered at the hands of foreign nationals who entered the U.S. unlawfully.

After returning to the White House in January following the worst border crisis in U.S. history, Trump immediately got to work on border security with a slate of executive orders and other administrative actions.

The actions proved fruitful: Customs and Border Protection now touts “total control” of the southern border, with daily border encounters down 93% and encounters with “gotaways” — illegal migrants that avoid arrest and are considered to be a top safety threat — down 95%, according to data released by the Trump administration. Altogether, migrant crossings have fallen by 99.99%.

While enormous gains have been made at the southern border, proponents of the “big, beautiful bill” say the funding package can deliver additional wins — especially at a time when violent activists are seeking to stymie enforcement actions.

“From the men and women on the frontlines of the border security and deportation efforts to the families of those lost to illegal alien crime, many are counting on provisions within the One Big Beautiful Bill,” Emmer said in a statement to the DCNF. “As riots targeting ICE agents continue, the strong stakeholder support for the bill reminds us that the stakes are real.”
