The co-hosts of ABC’s “The View” are giddy over CNN’s handling of an interview with a press secretary for former President Donald Trump’s campaign.
On Monday, the panel discussed CNN journalist Kasie Hunt’s decision to abruptly end the interview after Trump spokesperson Karoline Leavitt used the time to attack the moderators of the upcoming presidential debate hosted by the network.
Co-host Whoopi Goldberg flashed a toothy smile at the camera after the showing the exchange and said, “That was so good!”
Co-host Sara Haines pointed out it is not too unusual too at least to threaten to cut off an interview if someone is trying to change the topic and not address the questions being asked.
Conservative co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin argued Leavitt’s performance “underscored a stunning lack of message discipline.”
“You are a campaign spokesperson. You should be there to talk about what’s Donald Trump’s proactive agenda for the American people? How does he want to build the middle class or secure the border? But she can’t. It’s grievance. It’s rage. It’s retribution. It’s the same thing that he suffers from,” Griffin said. And honestly, this may be hard for us to believe there are undecided voters who watch CNN. These are people who are going to determine this election. You’re not winning any of them over by going after one of their most popular anchors repeatedly and not focusing on what matters to the American people.”

She also suggested the Trump campaign is trying to lay the ground work to claim the debate was rigged against the former president if it goes poorly.
Meanwhile, co-host Ana Navarro highlighted how the Trump’s campaign about Biden has changed:
“First, they told us he was decrepit. He was not going to be able to stand there for 90 minutes. He was senile. He’s lost. He’s this, he’s that. Then they realize, oh, you know what? It’s really stupid of us to be lowering the expectations. So then Trump came out and said Joe Biden was on cocaine, right? ‘He was jacked up during the State of the Union. Whatever they gave him, I want a drug test. I want him drug tested because he was too jacked up and that’s not normal.’ Then I heard him say ‘He’s a really good debater, Joe Biden. I saw him beat the pants out of Paul Ryan in that debate.’ They don’t know — and now, they’re saying the debate is rigged, and the interviewers are biased.”
She added, “You know what it sounds to me? Sounds like people who call folks snowflakes are snowflakey. Sounds to me like somebody is running a little scared — chicken, chicken, chicken.”
