President Joe Biden is receiving for his decision to end his re-election bid from a co-host of ABC’s “The View.”
Co-host Whoopi Goldberg asked if “everybody” is “OK” with the decision.
“I think so,” co-host Sunny Hostin said. “He’s the first president since 1968 to step down.”
She added, “I think it shows what a statesman he is, I think it shows what a patriot he is, I think it shows he can put his country before his ego because he had such a great record as president. I think that history will not him as one of the greatest presidents we ever had.”

Still, Hostin said she is “not comfortable with the notion that people were forcing him out.”
In a post on X on Sunday, Biden wrote, “In a post on X, Biden wrote, “My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”
He shared he is endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris to be the new nominee.
“Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this,” he added.
