A co-host of ABC’s “The View” is suggesting the trial of Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden’s son, will send an important message to the country.
During a segment of the show, co-host Whoopi Goldberg questioned why the president did not intervene to stop a trial from happening allegations of interference in the Justice Department were correct.
Co-host Sunny Hostin responded, “I love that question. Because not only is Hunter Biden is on trying, showing that no one is above the law, President Biden has indicated if he is convicted he will not pardon him, cause no one is above the law.”
She admitted the case is “interesting” because the charges stem from the allegation he purchased a firearm after lying on a gun application that asked about drug use while he was an addict.
She the pointed out about less than 1% of such gun cases that get investigated are prosecuted.
“But guess what? Hunter’s one of them. And I say, that’s how this country’s supposed should be. I don’t have a problem with him being on trial,” she added.

The segment comes as Hunter Biden’s trial for federal firearm charges kicked off this week.
He was charged last year for allegedly falsifying a firearm application. At first it appeared he would not face a trial after he agreed to a plea deal. However, the deal fell apart in court last summer amid scrutiny of what critics its sweetheart provisions.
The deal fell apart during a court hearing to approve it when the judge raised questions about a provision that appeared to take future prosecution of tax charges off the table.
