Co-hosts of “The View” attacked the nonpartisan “No Labels” group Monday as it prepared to host a town hall, calling it the “stupidest thing ever.”
Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia will headline a Monday town hall hosted by the group, which seeks to add a third-party option on all 50 state ballots in the country, NewsNation reported. Manchin has not ruled out running for president on a third-party ticket in the 2024 election.
“I think this is the stupidest thing ever. And let me just say this, my — my — my husband has been very supportive of No Labels. He’s been a part of No Labels. When No Labels started, one of the things they did was bring together a bunch of people in Congress, Senate and House with a bipartisan agenda,” Ana Navarro said. “It was Republicans and Democrats trying to work together on some of the crises that we have in this nation. And I think that part is so needed and so great.”

“But this is dangerous. Because let’s just put things in context. This is not a normal thing. This is not Bill Clinton v. George Herbert Walker Bush, with Ross Perot playing spoiler. No. This is Donald Trump,” Navarro continued. “He is a threat to national security. He has threatened our democracy. He caused an insurrection. He has weaponized government against his enemies. And so if you John Huntsman or Joe Lieberman — I love you, Joe Lieberman — but you’ve got to stop this Joe. Joe, Joe, Joe, this is insane and you cannot do anything, anything that could possibly help Donald Trump become president. You cannot be an accomplice on that. You are better than that, Joe.”
The group has hinted in the past it may not run a candidate if former President Donald Trump fails to win the Republican nomination for president.
“There are other ways to go about this. And one thing I always say here is, just like you referenced, Alyssa, being so entrenched in the history of this country, start by changing the primaries,” Sara Haines said, referring to co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former Trump administration official. “Because if you’re wanting more moderate candidates don’t leave these primaries in, I think half of the states, to only registered parties. Because there are a lot of people waiting to make their decision that would fall under a No Labels kind of moderate or — or independent. And that’s a better way to do it than this, because this will hurt, I think, President Biden. And one of the reasons is when you look at the election in 2020, arguably as much as Donald Trump — or as much as President Biden won, Donald Trump lost, there was a loss involved.”
WATCH:
“There were a lot of people coming out to vote against Donald Trump, rather than for President Biden,” Haines continued. “So I do think there’ll be peeling away voters that will directly hurt President Biden.”
